"Righteous," written, produced, and directed by Freddy Peña, is an undergraduate thesis project. The story follows Justin, a model student who faces the pressure of failing his final college class and losing his chance to graduate. When he is presented with the option to buy the test answers, Justin grapples with the ethical implications of cheating, setting off an inner struggle that leads to a suspenseful encounter with a mysterious seller.
Righteous was completed in June 2024 and screened at the Brooklyn College Film Festival where it was nominated in over 10 categories and awarded the Best Screenwriting Award.
