Prom Night

"Prom Night," directed by Armyda Escobar, the film follows Svetlana, the school janitor, and Irma, a History teacher, as they help prepare for the school's prom. When the DJ cancels last minute, Principal Terry insists on stepping in, much to Irma's dismay. As Svetlana and Irma create a ploy to change the playlist, subtle moments of closeness arise. Amidst the evening's chaos, their bond deepens unexpectedly, leaving them with an unexpected connection by night’s end.

Armyda received the Best Editing Award and Freddy received the Best Location Sound Recording Award at the Brooklyn College Film Festival in June of 2024.
